Patti's Plea...

May God grant you many years to live, For sure He must be knowing
The earth has angels all too few, And Heaven is overflowing.
~~~~~Irish Blessing
Dear Friends of America’s Troops,
We need your help!
Thanks to wonderful people like you, Soldiers’ Angels has packed and sent tens of thousands of Wrapped in Holiday Spirit care packages so far. Some of them have already arrived, and it is so wonderful to hear of the joy and comfort these packages bring!
"Christmas came early this year and I just wanted to say thank you. If only you could have seen the looks on my troops' faces when all those boxes came in. I have never seen such a giddy group of grown men…Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season, ours just got a whole bunch better." - CW2 Hobin, Afghanistan
And thanks to tireless Angels who worked so hard making blankets, doing item drives and writing notes, we have 40,000 more care packages sitting in the warehouse—we have need more postage! We must raise $150,000 by Saturday to send out the remaining 40,000 care packages to will arrive in time.
I know we can do this. If everybody reading this stands wingtip to wingtip and gives just what they are able—no more, no less--we will have enough to send all 40,000 packages, and even a bit more!
Wonderful people like you have accomplished amazing things for our troops this year. I’m counting on you just once more. Please help us Wrap our Troops in Holiday Spirit so that they know are loved and remembered this Holiday season.
Wingtip to Wingtip,
Patti Patton-Bader
Founder, Soldiers' Angels
I know this is a rough time of the year to be blegging. My pocketbook is as empty as everyone else's. And I ain't lucky enough to have any spare cash stashed under the mattress. But I can't help feel that 'Our Guys' need to be shown our love and support. Especially now at Christmas.
I mean, really, how would you feel if you were sitting in another country, far from home during the holidays? And you had no one to tell you that you were loved and being missed? No one to tell you Merry Christmas, Peace on Earth, Good will toward man?
How would you feel?
What if it was your husband, brother, son, cousin, nephew, sister, daughter, niece, etcetera, etcetera, you get the idea? You'd take the very last dollar you had in your possession to make sure that your loved one knew different, wouldn't you? You'd empty your piggy bank, check the couch cushions, search the car cubby holes for spare change. Beg, borrow or steal, ok, maybe not steal. But somehow, someway, you would find a way to send a box of love to the person who has your back and means the world to you.
Now do that for thousands of soldiers. There would be Patti. She has found ways to show those who need to be reminded that we love them, and are thinking of them. Patti has done so much to support the men and women who stand at the wall for us. Can we find a way to send some support for Patti when she needs it the most?
Yeah, I'm breaking out the penny jar. Good thing I always put more than just pennies in there.
And so it goes......
