Over the course of the last several weeks, I've received notice that Laughing Wolf (aka Blake Powers) has been extremely busy with the prep of organizing a return trip to Landstuhl Medical Center to cook for our Wounded Warriors. You can follow along by joining the group on Facebook: Cooking with the Wounded. You remember how he prepared for his first trip late last year, don't you?
This time around, he has much bigger aspirations. Yellow Bowl Bakery has joined forces with Laughing Wolf, and there are many other exciting plans in the works. They are working with the local media and the mil-blogs to spread the news of this venture far and wide. They are also working with several well known chefs and personalities to enlist their PR to continue and expand this well deserved honor for those men and women who have been wounded protecting us and our way of life.
As with all things that are worthy, these culinary adventures take monetary assistance. Everyone knows that there isn't any bottomless purse to dip into, well, everyone I know. Which is why every donation to the Soldiers' Angels fund for this excursion is appreciated. How better to show some lovin' for 'Our Guys' than Cooking with the Wounded? If we can't be there to do that cooking ourselves, why not send a few bucks to speed along those who can?
You will, right? And if you know any of the big self-important media types, pass this along. They might find it in their heart to become involved with those who protect all of us.
