Watch the video below to see how 'Our Guys' search out those IED's (improvised explosive devices) that are planted by the bad guys to kill and maim the unsuspecting. The video was shot by a National Geographic reporter riding along with the Marine Team in Helmand province. Can you imagine how long and arduous their days are?
Keep saying those prayers of protection for each and every one of 'Our Guys' who are deployed in this War Against Terror.
If you'd like to keep abreast of what our Marines are doing while in country, be sure to bookmark this official webpage of the USMC MEB (Marine Expeditionary Brigade). For most excellent independent reporting from within Afghanistan, be sure that you are reading Michael Yon.
And so it goes......

Excellent piece!!
Membrain says he's having trouble like you getting to my blog-the only way he can get to it is to click on my remarks at his blog. He thinks it has to do with another blog of mine that's restricted to family. I tried to reset permissions last night but can't tell if it works. Let me know if you still have trouble.
Stay warm and watch out for the icy bits :)

G'morning Pattie!
Thank you! These guys are doing an excellent job. Those IED's are doing so much harm to 'Our Guys' and the Afghan people. But the Taliban really don't care about that, do they? Makes me really upset when I read some of their propaganda.
Yup, I still have trouble seeing your posts. Have you changed the address again? Noticed it wasn't coming in on my reader. I shall have to investigate and restore the proper link.
Trying to stay warm. Has been above 32F. So now the snow is melting and leaving a ugly mess... *sigh* Looking forward to spring, I am!
I think they ought to do like Sherman did going through SC. The Rebs started planting mines and one LT stepped on one and lost a foot. Sherman brought up a bunch of rebel prisoners and made them march in front down the road. Sent a lone prisoner ahead to tell Johnston not to do it anymore or loose his one people.
Get several truck loads of Afghans and let them drive down the road ahead of our convoys. If one goes off, then clean up the mess and put another one in it's place.
Hmmm...
John,
that does sound like a plan. Of course, NATO and ISAF would have the Human Rights Council on their case.
Actually I think they should take a few of those high profile prisoners and make them walk in front of all convoys.
Or use some of the tactics that the Taliban have demonstrated themselves like beheading and hangings in public square. If they can do those things then... all's fair in love and war, right?
Gosh, didn't that just sound cruel?
Tim from Free Range International has often said, the first thing we should have done was paved all the roads!
Any attempts at digging would have been easier to spot.
What I want to know is... why the hell are large American corporations still doing business with the Chinese if they're now providing arms to the Taliban?
Kanani,
Love reading what BabaTim has to say about the situation there in Afghanistan. Admire his way of doing business with the Afghans. Shows that Big Army needs to change the way they operate in country...
Question is, will they be able to before it's too late? Uhh, not holding my breath waiting. :=))
American corporations are only concerned with one thing. Bottom line. Profits. China I think are buttering both sides of the bread. Of course, they own 19% of our debt. Scary thought, that. And we have a CiC who isn't so good at diplomacy. He's from Chicagotown where it's common for Mafia-stlye tactics to be utilized. And he's been well coached from other Anti-American thinkers.
Screwed, well and truly screwed, we are...at least for anther 3yrs.
