Anyone who has lived beyond the years of adolescence will tell you "Life isn't fair." While that might be true to some extent, they also will say "Life is what you make it.". A conundrum, don't ya think?
There are many little euphoniums that we express to address the daily actions that happen in our lives. Snippets of the reel we see endlessly playing in our minds. For some, it would be entitled "The Greatest Love Story", for others it would be "The Greatest Tragedy of All Time".
This morning while reading my weekly missive of Good News, and yes, there is good news to be found, I watched a 7 minute video that explained life using those little snippets of wisdom taken from some of the great movies that a good many of us have paid hard green cash to watch.
Those 7 minutes are well worth sharing. So...here ya go- Reel Wisdom.
How would you compile your own video? What films would you use, and what words would you want to leave for future generations to take to heart? I think I'll have to ponder on that one for awhile.

Wise Words From A Great Leader...
The old adage "You never know what you had until it's gone" has certainly been hitting home the last few years. We've been under rule of some of the most clueless, out of touch, 'I'm better than thou' elitist politicians in quite some time.
There are some of us who still remember when we elected a man to lead our Country, they were men of integrity and honor. Men that had strength of character. Men that knew the truth and certainly weren't afraid to speak such truth. Men who didn't bow or grovel to other leaders of the rest of the world. Men who knew the mantel of leadership was a heavy yoke to bear, yet did so willingly with humility and a backbone of pure steel. Those men who knew that being appointed President of the United States was to take care of America, with no apologies for our actions or without fear of reprisal to continue standing as the beacon of freedom.
Today, February 6, 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of celebrating the life of one such man: Ronald Wilson Reagan. A true American President...and as a reminder...his wise words.
Government exists to protect us from each other. Where government has gone beyond its limits is in deciding to protect us from ourselves.
There are no easy answers' but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.
If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.
Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.
No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth!
Of the four wars in my lifetime, none came about because the U.S. was too strong.
When you can't make them see the light, make them feel the heat.
How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin.
Thomas Jefferson once said, 'We should never judge a president by his age, only by his works.' And ever since he told me that, I stopped worrying.
Let us be sure that those who come after will say of us in our time, that in our time we did everything that could be done. We finished the race; we kept them free; we kept the faith.
We will always remember. We will always be proud. We will always be prepared, so we will always be free.

Love A Man In Uniform...
My patriotic heart beats red, white, and blue.
~~~~~Author UnknownSo...who doesn't love a man in uniform. Well, maybe besides the men in those uniforms. Theirs is just a different type of love, brotherly love.
How many people remember Elvis Presley looking super sexy in his uniform. C'mon! You've got to admit he was the quintessential sex symbol of those years. No, I don't remember since I was way too young then. But I do remember my Momma grinning like a Cheshire cat when we happened to catch one of his TV shows.
Okay, so maybe this guy doesn't have a uniform on. But Holy Moly! You just know he'd look great in one.
So exactly what point am I trying to get at with all these photo's? Well...since it's a new year, I keep looking at the spot where I had my calendar. Only it's gone. Bare space on the wall that needs to be filled. Last year on Facebook, I recall one group that had a calendar that featured some of our service members in uniform. The proceeds from that calendar was going to be used to help our Wounded Warriors.
Hoo Boy! That's something you wouldn't mind spending money for, isn't it? Now do you see where I'm going with this? I'll even give you a sneak peek at what you will find among the pages of said calendar...
There ya go. Doesn't this make you want to go order one or maybe half a dozen? You know you could hang one of these in every room of your house. And you'd be doing so much for some guys who gave up a heck of a lot more than most of America.
